This whole-house remodel reimagines a classic Scottsdale residence as a calm, light-filled retreat rooted in the Sonoran landscape. Most of the original old-world territorial home with low ceilings and dark spaces was taken down to the slab and rebuilt in the same footprint using crisscrossing beams to span over the non-structural existing block walls that the owner wanted to preserve. Natural stone, warm plaster walls, and quiet modern detailing work together to create a home that feels both grounded and contemporary. Indoor and outdoor spaces are carefully stitched together around a central courtyard, encouraging daily life to flow effortlessly between architecture and nature. The result is a timeless Desert Contemporary home—elegant, relaxed, and deeply connected to place.
